A travel-mad family recreated their cancelled package holiday at home...complete with airport, plane journey, and luxury sunshine break in their backyard.
Amanda Stephenson, 40, has been isolating at her home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, with daughters Danielle, 22, and Charlotte, 17, and their respective boyfriends Jack Everson-Hough, 22, and Callum Roberts, 17, since the lockdown began.
But the family of five, whose plans to Ibiza together in August now hang in the balance due to the pandemic, decided to use the Easter Bank Holiday sunshine to bring their holiday to them, travelling just a few yards to ‘Costa del Wakey’.

Their video sees the gang dressing up as excited travellers, Jet2 staff and airport security guards and even pretending to board a plane by getting into their white BMW convertible and driving around the cul-de-sac.
Account executive, Amanda said: “We love going on holiday as a family and we have got a trip to Ibiza booked in August but we don’t know if we will be able to go.
“So we decided with the lovely weather to bring the holiday to us.

“We’ve got a hot tub in the back garden and I pretended to board a plane in Jack’s white BMW before we drove around the cul-de-sac and came back in.
“I think the neighbours thought we must be losing the plot.”
Dressing up as a Jet2 flight assistant with red lips, and a smart skirt-suit ensemble, Danielle checks excited passenger, Amanda, in before she passes through airport security with Danielle’s fiance, Jack as security guard.

The travel-mad family have already been to several destinations together including, Vegas, Disneyland Florida, Amsterdam, and Australia - all in the last year.
But after setting off to see the globe together in December, Danielle and Jack had to cut their four-month travel plans short forcing them to fork out £700 to get home from Thailand nine days earlier than planned.

Danielle said: “We’re really big on travelling and we were gutted when we had to cut our travels short quite suddenly due to the virus.
“We felt like our trip didn’t quite end of the high we had planned and we were forced to get the next possible flight home!
“We’re obviously very used to the airport process and it’s fair to say we missed it after a lot of flying and we wanted to recreate it at home with all the family.
“It’s been lovely to see people’s reactions.
“Especially to spread joy at this time as we know many people can’t go on their holidays and are missing it.”
