Family pay tribute to motorcyclist, 56, who died in crash on Nottinghamshire road

A man who died in a crash involving his motorbike has been named by police.

Nick Strickson, 56, from Newark Road in Swinderby, Lincolnshire was involved in a single vehicle collision on the A57 near Ragnall at around 4pm on Monday, August 26.

Mr Strickson died at the scene.

His family have provided the following tribute:

“And when the time came to take your last ride,

"I can bet that you did with a smile,

"Because you loved to ride on a sunny day,

"And you did to the very last mile.”

"In memory of Dad xxx"

The A57 was closed in both directions between Dunham Bridge and Markham Moor, along with with Laneham Road and Main Street in Ragnall following the incident.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit were called to the scene to investigate.

Anyone who saw what happened or have any information that could help is asked to call police o on 101 quoting incident 595 of 26 August 2019.

Mr Strickson family have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
