The family of a man who died after being hit by a jaguar car in Accrington have paid tribute to a much-loved great-grandfather.
Dennis Guilfoyle, 85, from Great Harwood, suffered serious injuries in a collision on February 10, and died four days later on Valentine's Day.
Mr Guilfoyle’s family have now paid tribute, LancsLive reports.
In a statement, they said: “Dennis a was loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sorely missed.
“We want to thank everyone who has been in touch for their kind words and messages.
“He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
Police were called to a report at around 9am on February 10 that a Jaguar had been in collision with a pedestrian at the junction of Eastgate and Burnley Road.
The pedestrian was described as suffering serious head and pelvic injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment but later died, on Sunday (February 14).
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Sgt Lee Harris, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with Mr Guilfoyle’s family at this time.
“We continue to appeal for information and urge any witnesses, who saw what happened and have yet to speak to police, to come forward.”
