Family pay tribute to 'devoted dad' killed in Fife road crash as police appeal for witnesses to come forward

The family of a father-of-three who was killed in a horror Fife crash have paid tribute as police launch appeal for three potential witnesses to come forward.

Steven Kennedy was struck by a white Mercedes Benz A-class car in Dunfermline at around 9.50pm on February 19.

Emergency services raced to the scene on St Margaret Street but the 33-year-old tragically could not be saved.

His family have now paid tribute to the mechanical fitter, saying he was “a beloved fiancé to Katie and a devoted dad to his 3 children”.

A police investigation into Steven’s death has been launched and officers are appealing for witnesses.

They are particularly keen to speak to three people who may be able to help.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis, of Glenrothes road policing unit, said: "We are still appealing for witnesses and specifically a man on a bicycle within the area of St Margaret Street at the time of the incident and two men that Steven may have been with at the Old Inn pub."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3744 of 19 February 2020.
