Family offers to pay £2,000 for tutor to go on luxury ski holiday with them

A UK-based family is offering to pay someone £2,000 for a week of working just three hours a day while on holiday.

As well as the wage, the lucky candidate will also get an all-expenses-paid trip to a five-star catered chalet in the luxurious French ski resort of Val-d'Isère.

Why are they doing it? They're worried about their son's upcoming mock exams, and want to make sure he gets tutoring while on holiday.

Parents Sarah and Mark explained: "We did have a tutor lined up, however, they have cancelled on us rather last minute due to an injury.

"Our son, who is 15, needs help with his Maths and Biology ahead of his mocks next month, and we are hoping that we can find a suitable tutor to come to the Alps with us and teach him for a few hours an afternoon across both subjects."

When not tutoring, you can do what you like, the parents said, with food, drink and flights included.

You'll also get access to the slopes, although it you want to get some skiing or snowboarding in you'll need to rent your own gear or bring some with you.

If skiing's not your thing, the good news it Tutor House, where the job ad was posted, said there are an increasing number of jobs going for "holiday tutors".

Since the start of of 2018, Tutor House has seen a 78% increase in families hiring tutors to accompany them on holiday.

Alex Dyer, founder of Tutor House, said: "This is obviously a really unique opportunity, and I’m sure it’s probably a lot of tutors’ dream job - as a former teacher I even thought about applying myself!

"With the family’s deadline coming up we’re keen to help them find someone asap - although we don’t think it will be long for the applications to come flooding in.”

But you won't have long to apply - with the family planning to select the winning candidate by 19 February, ahead of flying out on the 21st.

The winning candidate should also have at least three years’ experience, know both subjects, be kind  and have a valid passport. You're not obliged to ski either.
