Young dad, 28, killed in tragic motorbike crash will be 'remembered for his crazy ways'

The family of a young dad killed in a tragic motorbike crash have said their lives will never be the same without him.

Leon Cameron died when a Kawasaki motorbike he was riding crashed on Statham Avenue, in Warrington, on Sunday April 19.

The 28-year-old father-of-two was rushed to Aintree Hospital alongside another 28-year-old man but died a short time later.

His friend remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

After the devastating crash, his heartbroken family paid tribute to him, describing him to the ECHO as "just the best".

His sister said that her feelings could not be explained after the shock accident.

Gemma Cameron added: "Can’t put into words how I’m feeling right now.

"Absolutely devastated that you’ve been taken in this way. Never thought in a million years I’d be doing this.

"Love you more than you will ever know Leon."

Leon was a proud father to young daughters, Lacey and Ella, who he raised with long term partner Tania.

His brother has now vowed to do everything he can to look after them.

Jack Collins said: "Words can’t explain on how I’m feeling.

"You were the best big brother I could of asked for. I love you loads man.

"This shouldn't have happened to you this early.

"You were the best dad to them girls. Now I will promise you I will be there for them every day, for the rest of my life."

Younger sister Abbie added: "Rest in peace my big brother.

"Our lives are never going to be the same. You were just the best, one of a kind.

"I just ask myself why. I love you so much and I know you loved me too.

"Fly so high Leon, until we can be together again."

Hundreds of tributes have also been posted on social media to Leon who was extremely popular and well loved.

Family friend Becci Hamblett added to the outpouring and said: "Our gorgeous Leon you have made us so proud.

"Words can’t express how we’re feeling right now. You’ve left us far too soon, but I know you’ll live on through your gorgeous girls.

"That cheeky smile and your funny ways will brighten our hearts on these sad days.

"Our hearts may be broken but we will never forget your crazy ways.

"Memories are all that we have left. So fly high you gorgeous boy until the day we meet again."

A fundraising page, set up to support Mr Cameron's family, has already raised £1,500 as people who knew him rush to help his loved ones.

Officers at Cheshire Police appealed for information over the crash on Tuesday afternoon.

In a statement, the force said: "Officers are appealing for information after a man died following a serious collision in Warrington.

"The one-vehicle-collision on Statham Avenue involved a Kawasaki motorcycle with a rider and pillion passenger.

"It was reported to police at around 6.11pm on Sunday 19 April.

"Officers attended to the scene and discovered that two men had sustained serious injuries.

"The men were taken to Aintree Hospital by ambulance.

"Sadly Leon Cameron, aged 28 and from Warrington, died a short time later and his family are being supported by specialist officers.

"A 28-year-old man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

"Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or dashcam footage."
