Family of woman tragically killed in Livingston car crash pay emotional tribute to 'caring' mum

A mum killed in a car crash in Livingston has been named as Leeanne Aitken .

The 45-year-old who passed away after sustaining serious injuries in the smash on the A705, Cousland Road at around 3.20pm on Wednesday, January 8 has been described as a "loving and caring" mother.

Leeanne, from Ladywell, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash between the Mill Roundabout and the Hospital Interchange.

In a statement released through Police Scotland the family said: “Leeanne was a loving, caring mother, daughter and sister.

“She always had an ear for anyone that needed it and always a shoulder to cry on, she would do her utmost to help anyone out and offer guidance. She will be missed dearly, but loved always .”

Cops continue to investigate the traffic incident and they are appealing for information to help them with their inquiries.

Sergeant John Easton from Police Scotland ’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the friends and family of Leeanne at this difficult time.

“Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident and we would appeal to anyone who may have seen this crash or who might have dash-cam footage to speak to officers.

“We are grateful to everyone who has assisted our enquiries so far.”
