Family of woman murdered in Kenya 32 years in Netflix talks for show about search

The family of a woman murdered in Kenya are in talks to turn the 32-year hunt for her killer into a documentary.

John Ward revealed filmmakers were interested in making a 10-part Netflix series from his story.

Wildlife photographer Julie, 28, was killed in a game reserve in 1988 but her family say Kenyan and British authorities colluded to hinder their fight for justice.

John, now 87, says the death of the man he believes was the prime suspect, president’s son Jonathan Moi, has sparked new evidence.

John said: “Filmmakers want to make a Netflix documentary like the Madeleine McCann one.

"But we may have too much information for 10 episodes.”

The ex-hotelier, who spent £2million trying to get a conviction, believes the UK government wanted to avoid rocking diplomatic relations with Kenya.

Both nations deny this.
