Family of woman killed in Pontyclun crash left utterly heartbroken by her death

The family of an elderly woman have paid tribute to her following her death in a collision.

Pedestrian Sandra Stroud, 76, died after a silver Mitsubushi ASX collided with her at around 2.30pm on Monday in Cowbridge Road, Pontyclun .

She was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff but died as a result of her injuries.

In a moving tribute, Mrs Stroud's family said: "On Monday, December 2, we lost Sandra - lost seems such a small word yet the hollow that her passing has created is immeasurable.

"Sandra was a loving wife, mother and sister and dedicated her time to her family, she loved nothing more than to help others and was a part of many community groups in particular the Tyla Garw Craft Group, also known as the Lace Belles.

"We simply do not know how we will cope without her in our lives."

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Mrs Stroud's death and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

They are also asking if motorists present at the time of the collision may have dash cam footage of the incident.
