The family of a woman killed in a motorcycle crash last weekend have said she made life “so effortless”.
We told you last Sunday how a 53-year-old woman had been killed following a crash on the A706 near Wilsontown.
Police Scotland have today named her as Yvonne Motherwell from the Lanark area.
Paying tribute to their beloved mother, her family said: “Our mum was so amazing, brave and strong and we are so very proud. “Always smiling or laughing, she made life so effortless and fun, and could always make the best out of any situation.
“We take great comfort knowing your last moments were spent on your bike with the sunshine on your face and with your best friend behind you. We know you wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
“You died doing something you loved the most and will continue to do so wherever you may be.
“Growing up is for old people and we are glad you never had to. Rest in peace Mum, we love you always.”
The incident happened around 4.30pm on Saturday (April 3) on the A706 near the junction with Pleasance Row in Wilsontown.
Yvonne was the rider of a black Suzuki motorcycle. The other vehicle involved was a black BMW car.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash and released pending further enquiries.
