The family of a West Lothian football secretary who passed away have launched a fundraiser for his club in his memory.
Steven Macmillan served Stoneyburn Junior Football Club for over 20 years before his sad passing on Saturday morning.
And his family have requested donations be made to improve the club’s facilities at Beechwood Park, setting up a Crowdfunder page that has already seen over £4500 donated.
A statement on the Crowdfunder page read: “Loving Husband to Lyn, Amazing father to Emma, Sarah, Alex, David, much loved Son to Wilma & David and best big brother to Colin, David & Vicky - Steven Macmillan sadly & unexpectedly died on Saturday 21st August 2021 aged 43.
“Steven put his heart and soul into Stoneyburn Juniors for over 20 years as club secretary dedicating every single day to the running of the club.
“At the specific request of the family in lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate in memory to help raise funds for park improvements for Stevens 2nd love Stoneyburn Juniors.
“Donations to this page in memory of Steven will be gratefully received and sent direct to the club for the committee to use and improve the facilities at Beechwood Park, Stoneyburn. We know this would make Steven smile.
“The Macmillan family and Stoneyburn Juniors football club would like to thank you all for the sympathy and kindness shown during this difficult time.
