Stabbed schoolboy Yousef Makki’s family want his killer tried again after he was released early from prison last week.
Joshua Molnar, now 18, fatally stabbed 17-year-old Yousef in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, a year ago but was cleared of murder and manslaughter.
Molnar was sentenced to 16 months in custody for possessing a knife and perverting the course of justice after a trial heard he acted in self-defence but lied to police.
Yousef’s sister Jade Akoum told a press conference yesterday: “Police told us on the morning of the release – we were getting mentally prepared for his release later on in March.
"If we can’t have a retrial, we will be launching a civil case.”

Molnar, 18, from a wealthy Cheshire family, told a jury he acted in self-defence, after Yousef pulled a knife on him.
He was acquitted of murder and manslaughter by a jury after a trial at Manchester Crown Court last July.

Molnar, from Hale Barns, admitted lying to police and possession of a knife and was given 16 months in custody.
He was released form custody last week.
