Family of Scottish man who vanished on dinghy near island pay tribute as body found

A body has been found in the search for a missing Fife man who vanished on a dinghy days ago.

Police have confirmed a body was recovered from the coastline near the Isle of Rum on Saturday afternoon (September 3), with a formal identification still to take place.

An urgent appeal was launched by officers earlier in the week to try and trace Andy Samuel, 59, after he was last seen boarding the small boat near Kinloch, off the Isle of Rum.

Last seen on Tuesday, August 30, a search later recovered the dinghy on Thursday, however, Andy, an Abertay University lecturer, was not located at the time.

The Record reports that Andy's family have now been informed of the news, with police confirming there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
