Family of Scots teen who vanished three days ago “extremely worried” as urgent search launched

The family of a Scots teen who vanished three days ago are “extremely worried” about his welfare.

Jamie Cannon was last seen at around 10am in Kinnier Road, Saltcoats, on Thursday, May 20.

The 19-year-old has failed to make contact with friends or loved ones who have since reported him missing to police.

Officers say the teen was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

He is described as being 6ft 1in tall with light brown hair.

Police Inspector Colin Shearer said of Irvine Police Station: “We are growing concerned for the welfare of Jamie as this is completely out of character for him.

“His family and friends are extremely worried about him.

“Jamie, if you are reading this appeal, I would ask you to make contact with the police or your family or friends to let them know you are safe and well."

Anyone who may have seen Jamie or knows his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 1623 of 22 May, 2021.
