Family of Nathan Thomas 'heartbroken' by Springburn teenager's death

The family of Nathan Thomas have shared their heartbreak following the death of the Springburn teenager.

Emergency services raced to Viewpoint Place in the north of the city at 3am on Monday morning, however, police confirmed a 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been named locally as former Cleveden Secondary School pupil Nathan Thomas.

Nathan's family earlier reached out to Glasgow Live to say a fundraiser has been launched in his memory, following the 'tragic accident' which led to his loss.

His Aunt Helena Thomas revealed Nathan was due to start college today, while saying 'all the family is heartbroken'.

Tributes have poured in for the popular teenager, one of which described him as 'one of the kindest, purest souls'.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
