Family of Tomasz Lipiec launch crowdfunder to transport his body home to Poland

The family of Tomasz Lipiec have started a crowdfunder to raise money to transport his body home to Poland so they can "bury him with dignity".

The 33-year-old, who was wheelchair bound, was found dead at a property in Dobbies Loan Place, Townhead, last Monday, September 7.

Police launched a major inquiry in the immediate aftermath, with officers going door to door and scouring CCTV in a bid to try and piece together the circumstances leading up to Tomasz's death.

And now two men, aged 50 and 31, have been arrested in connection with his death - and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow morning.

The campaign is hoping to raise 20,000 Polish złoty (around £4,000) - which is the estimated cost of transporting Tomasz's body from Glasgow to Poland.

Tomasz's brother wrote: "Together with my mother, we are not able to pay all the costs associated with it. Funds are also raised among family and friends to help transport my brother's body to Poland so that we can bury him with dignity. We believe that we will be able to collect the necessary amount. Thank you for every symbolic zloty and a good heart."

Over 3,500 złoty (£717) has already been raised since the crowdfunder was started earlier today.
