Family of missing Michael Fitzpatrick informed as body pulled from River Clyde in Glasgow

The family of missing Michael Fitzpatrick have been informed after a body was recovered from the River Clyde at Pacific Quay in Glasgow yesterday.

The 49-year-old hadn't been seen since he was spotted leaving the Travelodge at Glasgow Quay on December 9.

Police have confirmed that has a post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man was recovered from the River Clyde at 1.05pm on Monday, 11 January, 2021.

"The family of Michael Fitzpatrick, missing since Friday, 11 December, have been made aware of the discovery.

"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death. The death is not being treated as suspicious."
