Family of missing man ‘extremely concerned’ after he vanishes in Scots town

The family of a man who vanished in Fife are ‘extremely concerned’ at his out-of-character disappearance.

Police are appealing for help from the public to find Asif Iqbal who was last seen in the Craigmount area of Kirkcaldy at around 7.30am on Sunday, September 12.

The 30-year-old has so far failed to make any contact with his loved ones sparking concern for his welfare.

Despite scouring CCTV in the local area, officers have so far been unable to find Asif who has never gone missing before.

He is described as being around 5ft 10 inches in height, normally wears glasses, with short black hair, brown eyes, and a heavy build.

He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black t-shirt with white stripes and a blue/grey hooded top and black Nike trainers.

Inspector Martin McGovern said: “Our concern for Asif is growing, understandably, his family is extremely worried and just want him back safe and well.

"It is completely out of character for him to go off like this and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen him or has any information as to his whereabouts to contact us.”

Anyone who has any information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1157 of 12 September, 2021
