The family of an ‘adored’ Irishman who went missing on a mountain trail in Wyoming, have today issued a fresh appeal for information four months after his disappearance.
Cian McLaughlin was last seen on June 8 in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, when a climbing guide reported seeing someone matching his description hiking alone.
His car was later found parked near Lupine Meadows, while more than 45 helicopter search missions were conducted in the days following his disappearance.
Officials were using rescue technology and thermal imaging cameras, while up to 70 park staff and several dog teams searched the park's trails, canyons, and woods for days.
After weeks of no luck, efforts in the search were scaled back, and today, his family have placed new posters near the park in the hopes of gaining some ‘closure’ in the matter.
The appeal has been put up in areas near the park and says they only have a small window of time to bring him home.
The poster reads; "The weather is changing rapidly and we have a small window to bring home this incredibly adored young man.
"We desperately need your help to find him and get closure for his loved ones who have been frantically searching over four long months to locate Cian."
The poster re-states that McLaughlin was wearing a white t-shirt, a pair of shorts, a red Apple Watch, wire-rimmed sunglasses, and a silver necklace when he was last seen.
Meanwhile, a photographer who met Cian on the trail, took photos of the young man, which are now being used alongside the free appeal to the public.
Speaking to RTE, Mr Sargent Schutt said: "We looked forward to seeing him again, more so than with most anyone I've known for such a short time.
"We and our other friends who knew him here have been deeply saddened by his disappearance, and hope for closure for all of his family and friends in this very unexpected situation."
