Missing Blyth man Geoff Watson has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.
The 68-year-old had been missing since 6pm on Tuesday after last being seen in the Killingworth area.
His family were extremely concerned for his welfare and Northumbria Police issued an appeal to the public for help.
Shortly after 10pm on Tuesday, officers confirmed the good news that he had been located thanks to members of the public.
A spokesperson for the force said: "It is with thanks to the public that a Northumberland man who was reported missing earlier this evening has been found safe and well.
"Thank you to all who contacted us."
