Family of Larry Gogan wipe away tears at radio legend's removal

The family of RTE broadcasting legend Larry Gogan wiped away tears as the veteran DJ’s removal took place on Thursday night.

Hugely-popular Gogan, who spent four decades on RTE radio during a career spanning 60 years on the airwaves, died on Tuesday morning.

The 85 year-old’s removal took place on Thursday at Church of St Pius X in Templeogue.

His loved ones wiped away tears during the emotional service.

The veteran presenter’s RTE radio colleague Dave Fanning was one of those who paid their respects tonight.

The funeral mass for the much-loved broadcaster will take place on Friday morning at 11.30am followed by a private burial.

The chief mourners will be Gogan’s five adult children Gerard, Orla, David, Gráinne and Sinéad along with his grandchildren.

The radio star’s beloved late wife Florrie died Florrie died in January 2002 after battling breast cancer.
