Family of Irishman reported missing in Berlin 'extremely concerned' as urgent appeal issued

An appeal has been launched for information on the whereabouts of an Irishman who is missing in Germany.

Shane O'Brien was last seen in Berlin on October 5.

He has had "no contact" with anyone since Tuesday and his friends and family are urgently seeking help in finding him.

His family are said to be "extremely concerned" for his welfare, while anyone who can help in locating Shane is asked to contact German police directly.

The appeal was issued on Monday by the sports news website Balls.ie, with hundreds of people swiftly sharing the post with friends and relatives in Berlin.

The post reads: "Please help and share. Irish man Shane O'Brien has been missing in Berlin with no contact with anyone since last Tuesday. If anyone has seen him or knows anything, please let us know or get in touch with the police directly. His family are extremely concerned."

The Irish Mirror has contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs for comment.
