The family of Rhys Bonner have thanked the community for their help and support over the last two weeks since the teenager was reported missing.
Police Scotland officers confirmed a body was found in marsh ground between Easterhouse and Gartloch Village yesterday afternoon.
The tragic news shocked the Balarnock community, and the wider north Glasgow area, as residents helped in searches over the 15 days 19-year-old Rhys was missing for.
Family friend Amanda Parsons shared a statement on social media after the news broke last night saying they are 'forever grateful' for the support.
Amanda wrote: "I've been asked on behalf of the Bonner family to put this post on.
They want to thank everyone for there help and support over these past 15days on the search for Rhys!
"Unfortunately they didn’t get the outcome we were all praying for but from the bottom of there hearts they will be forever grateful to you all".
A major search was launched to trace the 19-year-old, who vanished from Balarnark in Glasgow , on Wednesday, July 24.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed: "Around midday today officers found the body of a man in marsh ground between Easterhouse and Gartloch Village.
"Formal identity has yet to take place, however the family of Rhys Bonner, 19, who had been reported missing from the Barlarnark area, has been informed.
"A post-mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is unexplained at this time."
