RTE Crimecall revisit tragic death of Tallaght dad mown down in broad daylight

The family of a man deliberately mown down by a car in broad daylight has appealed for information on his killing.

Stephen Lynch, 31, died after a vehicle ran over him at a housing estate in Tallaght, South Dublin, on April 13, 2017.

He was targeted after telling the driver of a Ford Focus to slow down because children were playing nearby.

Stephen’s family appeared on Crimecall last night to launch a fresh appeal for information on his murder.

His eldest son Craig said: ‘’I couldn’t say a last goodbye to him. That’s the worst thing. This has affected our lives in the worst way possible. Every single day it’s killing us.’’

Stephen’s mother Vera Donovan said his killer remains at large despite a large crowd witnessing the brutal killing.

She added: “I’m never going to get over this but I’d like to be a bit happier for my other kids and my grandkids but that’s never going to happen as long as there is no justice.

“Have a look at your first born child and imagine never ever seeing them again, imagine the absolute agony of that.”
