Family of Daniel Greer pay emotional tribute to 'darling boy' as cops charge man over death

Police have charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the death of Daniel Greer in Airdrie earlier this week.

The 33-year-old was found in his home on Rankin Street in the town’s Greengairs area at around 12.55pm on Monday, October 19.

It comes as his devastated family paid emotional tribute.

Officers from Police Scotland thanked the local community in Greengairs and Airdrie for their assistance during the investigation.

A statement released through Police Scotland read: “He was a much loved member of our family and he will be sadly missed.

"My Darling boy Daniel, life will never be the same without you.

"We will always love you.”

Detective Superintendent Kevin Jamieson of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team (East) said: “I’d like to thank the local people in the Greengairs and Airdrie communities for their assistance during this inquiry and to assure them that a significant police presence will remain in the area at this time.”

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

The 43-year-old man is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday, October 26.
