Family of Allied Vehicles co-founder buys out his brother

Custom vehicle specialist Allied Vehicles Group has been taken over entirely by the family of co-founder Gerry Facenna.

His brother Michael had been stepping back from the Allied Group which includes Glasgow Tigers Speedway, and has now relinquished all control to Gerry and his sons Gerry, David and Peter.

The Facennas founded Glasgow-based Allied in 1993. It builds wheelchair-accessible cars, minibuses and taxis for private and public sector customers throughout the UK and in continental Europe. The group also provides living aids for older and disabled people and after-sales services including service and maintenance, accident repair and nationwide parts distribution. It has a turnover of £139 million and employs more than 680 people.

The brothers bought Glasgow Tigers in 2014 and redeveloped the stadium the team shares with Ashfield junior football club in the north of the city
