Family notified after body found in search for missing Fife man Steven Squire

The family of missing Fife man Steven Squire have been notified after police found a body on the outskirts of Perth.

Glenrothes man Steven Squire has been missing since 1 September, with his car reportedly found at a hotel near Perth on Wednesday.

Police Scotland said they had made the discovery earlier today, and whilst the body has not been formally identified they have notified Steven's family.

The 33-year-old was last seen by family on Sunday, and was believed to have travelled to Perth.

Family and friends launched a frantic search for the man, who served in the Royal Engineers, appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

One friend said people could contact him in confidence with any information to help locate Steven.

Steven's sister Chantel Squire posted on Facebook saying: "Thanks to everyone who took the time to share to try find my brother, devestated."
