Family music festival will return to Forest Recreation Ground this summer after popular first year

After a popular debut last year, the Forest Recreation Ground will once again be host to a family music festival - and the line-up is nothing to be sniffed at.

Freddie Mercury and Queen top the bill on Saturday, May 30, with Oasis, Rolling Stones, The Police, Guns 'N Roses and Green Day also on the stellar line-up.

Tickets start from as little as £75 for a family of four or £27.50 per adult.

So what's the catch?

Well, they're all tributes of course, but these guys are some of the best on the UK circuit.

Back for 2020, Fake Festival will once again be touring the country including a stop at the Goose Fair site where a giant marquee will shelter the main stage.

Up until 2019 the event had never had at a city location before.

The one-dayer will run from 11:45am to 11.30pm.

Fake Festival will be touring the UK this summer including stops in Nottingham, Derby and North Shields (pictured from last year) (Newcastle Chronicle)

The stage times are:

12:45pm – The Police Force (The Police)

2:30pm – Green Date (Green Day)

4:15pm – The Stones (Rolling Stones)

6pm – Guns 2 Roses (Guns n Roses)

7:45pm – Oasish (Oasis)

9:45pm – Flash (Queen)

There will be a licensed bar inside the marquee, as well as drink tokens available for £3.50 each. Each token can be exchanged for either one alcoholic drink or two soft drinks.

Outside the marquee,  food and drink  will available from traders – with pizza, burgers, jacket potatoes and more available - while entertainment will also be on offer with face painters, stalls and children’s rides and inflatables to keep the little ones entertained.

The event is one of several Fake Festivals taking place around the country between April and August.

Tickets for Fake Festival are available to buy now from  fakefestivals.co.uk.

Early bird adult tickets are priced at £27.50 and are available until May 1. After that they rise to £32.50 in advance. Also available are concession tickets for 10 to 17-year-olds, as well as family bundles. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door.
