Family member issues update on Pontus Jansson's future at Leeds United

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson's future at Leeds United is rumoured to be uncertain following the play-off semi-final defeat to Derby County.

The 28-year-old missed out on the play-offs after picking up an ankle but the defining image of the night was the centre-back slumped next to the advertising board at Elland Road.

Speculation has suggested that Jansson could be set to leave the club following the loss but his brother has moved to quiet the rumours.

Replying to a fan on social media, Peter Jansson dismissed talk about a possible departure from Elland Road.

The defender broke his silence after the Leeds heartbreak on Monday as he posted a message on his Instagram account.

"It shouldn’t end like that," Jansson wrote.

"Still don’t understand it today how it all could end so quickly.

"We gave all every single day and deserved more but sometimes you don’t get what you deserve.

"I’m proud of my club, team-mates and fans that we never gave up.

"Thanks for all support and all the efforts during the year."
