Residents shaken after man walked into Newport their home and demanded valuables

Residents in Newport was left shaken following an alleged burglary when a man is said to have walked into their flat and demanded valuables.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident, which took place on Wednesday, January 29 in the St Julians area.

At sometime between 5.30am and 6.15am, a man walked into the flat on Morden Lane, "frightening" the family and demanding they get to the floor.

The man is also said to have taken a number of valuable items.

The items taken include a white iPhone 11, an Xbox, some speakers and money. 

DC Jenna Edwards, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a particularly frightening experience for the residents involved who were left shaken. 

"We are following numerous lines of enquiry, but if anyone in the local community has any information they think could assist, please get in touch.”
