Family left "broken" as man killed in horror Paisley crash is named

The man killed following a crash on one of Paisley’s busiest roads has been named this afternoon.

Jim Paterson was struck by a car around 12.20am on Brediland Road, Foxbar.

The 63-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and police have said that enquiries are ongoing.

Today, Jim’s devastated family urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward and speak to police.

In a statement issued via Renfrewshire police, the family said: “Our entire family is broken following the tragic death of our beloved Jim.

“Please if anyone has any information or knows anything which could help the police, come forward.”

Road policing officers in Renfrewshire echoed this plea and are this afternoon urging people who witnessed the fatal crash to get in touch.
