Friends and family of an East Kilbride woman have taken to social media to launch a frantic appeal for her return.
Abbie McCluckie has not been seen since last night (Thursday), having left a club in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street.
The 19-year-old was last seen leaving Firewater as she was thought to have been “too drunk” to get in.
This morning, her cousin Chloe Ashcroft posted an emotional appeal for information on her whereabouts.
She took to Facebook to say: “Anyone at all that knows where my cousin Abbie is, please contact the police or message me or her mum ASAP.
“She was in Firewater last night and was too drunk, got chucked out and put in a taxi – nobody has heard from her and she hasn’t returned home or contacted anyone.
“Please share and contact police with any information.”
Speaking to the News, Chloe said the former Duncanrig pupil was out with a big group of friends, all of who were from East Kilbride.
Abbie stays with her boyfriuend, Danny Hashim and works with his family.
Her mother, Stephanie Whiteside, is in Glasgow this morning working with police and staff at Firewater to determine the taxi company she went home with.
Chloe told us: “I’m on my way into Glasgow just now to look for her, but this is out of character.
“It’s totally not like her to do this and she was due to go home to stay with her boyfriend. He hasn’t heard from her and none of her friends have either.
“When we’ve spoken to them, they just say there was a nbig crowd of them and basically everyone in Firewater was from East Kilbride.
Chloe said she believes bouncers put Abbie into a taxi, but none of her friends are thought to have been with her at the time.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101. Information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111.
Chloe has also asked anyone with any information contact her or Abbie’s mum on Facebook.
