Police are searching for a ‘vulnerable’ young man who disappeared after visiting his Scottish family.

Aaron Simpson has not been seen since around 10pm on Thursday night when he was caught on CCTV at Mount Florida Train Station in Glasgow.

The 22-year-old, who has mental health difficulties, has failed to make any contact with his frantic loved ones who are desperately appealing for help to find him.

He is described as being 5ft 5 and speaks with an Essex accent.

The young man had been visiting a relative in Mount Florida before going to the transport hub to catch a train back to Paisley, where he had been staying.

Relative Robert Thomson said: “He’s in a vulnerable state of mind and he doesn’t know anyone up here apart from the family that we know of.

“He hasn’t gone to any family members house. We have contacted the police who are looking for him also.

“He has an aunt in Mount Florida who he was visiting but he never returned there after missing the last train back to Paisley.

“He suffers from mental health problems so I am very worried about him. He also hasn’t accessed his phone since.”

Police Scotland confirmed they are continuing to search for Aaron.

A spokeswoman said: “Enquiries continue and we would ask anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1212 of Friday, 1 May.”
