Family increasingly concerned for missing Glasgow dog walker as frantic police search underway

A missing dog walker has sparked a frantic police search in Glasgow.

George Callan was last seen on Thursday morning, May 6, in the Govan area of the city.

Family members saw the 63-year-old at his Govan home at around 7am.

At around 9.30am a neighbour spotted George walking his dog.

Police soon launched an investigation and say loved ones are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

George is described as five foot, four inches tall with white hair and a stocky build.

When last seen, he was wearing a Black Parka jacket with fur around hood, a jumper, t-shirt, blue jeans and brown work boots.

Officers searching for George are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

A Greater Glasgow Police Division spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for help to trace a man from the Govan area of Glasgow

"Family are growing concerned for George Callan, 63, who is missing from his home address in the Govan area of Glasgow.

"George was last seen by family members at 7am hours on Thursday, May 6 within his home address, and later by a neighbour walking his dog at 9.30am.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2719 of Thursday, May 6."
