Family in Whitchurch find a BATTERY inside their Easter chocolate

The whole point of Kinder egg is a nice surprise, right?

But a Whitchurch family had a nasty shock when an Easter Bunny Kinder egg contained a AAA battery.

The battery egg bombshell came this morning (Easter Sunday) at the home of Tony Binding, where he lives with his wife Laura, 39, and youngsters Kaila, ten, and Jaxon, nine.

Tony, 47, a senior estimator, told Bristol Live: "My wife bought it at the Range in Imperial Park on March 30.

"We had an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday and placed it on the bird table.

"My daughter found it and, as we were cooking breakfast, the kids started devouring their chocolate."

With that Kaila cried "What's this?" and found a battery in her egg."

Tony said: "It was not the sort of thing you expect to see.

"I don't think it was a problem at the Range as the packaging was intact.

"It was obviously a problem at the factory."

Tony tried to contact Ferrero, which owns Kinder, but its customer services department is shut until Tuesday.

He said: "I am a bit hacked off, thinking about what could have happened.

"Kaila is sensible, but I did fear she could have snapped her teeth on it.

"I just wanted to warn other parents as it is the sort of thing you give to young children."

A Ferrero spokesman was unavailable for comment.
