Family in Goa, burglars get away with Rs 9L in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: The Pathans had gone to Goa for a much-needed break from the strain brought on by the Covid-induced lockdown.

However, all of their stress and more returned the moment they stepped back into their house and realized that they had been targeted by burglars, who had made off with Rs 9 lakh that was kept in their safe.

Riyaz Pathan, 39, filed a complaint in this regard at Danilimda police station. He said that he had gone with his family to Goa on September 11 and they had returned on Thursday.

“The burglars had entered the house through a bathroom window. They then broke open the bathroom door to gain access to the house.

“They used a crowbar to break into the iron safe kept in one of the bedrooms. They took Rs 9 lakh cash that was kept inside,” Pathan told police.
