Family horrified as machete-wielding thieves burgle home while on school run

A family were horrified after a group of burglars with machetes burgled their home while they were out on a school run.

Mother Emily Bushby said she and her family were "lucky" to have been out the house at the time, escaping what could have been a sinister turn of events.

CCTV footage shows two thieves armed with machetes breaking into a house along Washneys Road, Knockholt near Sevenoaks at around 3.50pm on Monday, Kent Police said.

Both of them were dressed in track suits and wore black face masks.

Ms Bushby arrived home later than usual as she needed to fix a punctured tyre in her car, while her father and daughter were out on a school run.

She and her family arrived home in separate cars.

They were shocked to find their house completely ransacked with a couple of items stolen from the premises.

The mother posted CCTV images on Facebook in hopes to track the two criminals down.

She wrote: "Can't believe that this complete scum have burgled our house in broad daylight carrying a machete please share let's see if anyone recognises these tracksuits!!!

"Luckily I was meant to be on school run but had had a puncture so me and kids were out, so grateful for that."

"Both men were wearing gloves and balaclavas. One of them is described as being stocky and was wearing a dark tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe down each leg and black trainers.
