A family's holiday was ruined after thousands of ants invaded their caravan.
Katrina Clark decided to take her four children home from holiday a day early when she woke up to find the insects crawling all over her.
The 37-year-old claims that she was not given a refund by the owner, who offered to come round and spray the caravan during their stay instead, Lincolnshire Live reported .
Katrina, from Great Yarmouth, added that she wasn't told about the bug issue until the day of her arrival.
The holiday began on Monday, May 27 when the family turned up at the caravan booked through a private owner on the Sea View Holiday Camp. in Skegness.
She said: “On the Thursday morning the kids woke up screaming as they were all over them and over the unit that’s next to their bed.
“They refused to sleep in the bedroom. The kids kept screaming, especially the three-year-old we stayed out most of the time and just used it for sleeping.
“But it was the final straw on Thursday when they were all over the place.
“We had to leave the caravan early, I was stupid for not leaving straight away but she didn’t tell us about the ants until we arrived.
“I told her on the Tuesday that we had to throw food away because of it so she offered to come round on the Wednesday.
“The only reason why I said we would see how it goes was because I was worried about the ant stuff she was going to put down, as I thought that the caravan had to be vacated to do this.
“I rent private every year but this has put me off ever renting again.”
Katrina said that she would have expected to be given a refund or be moved if she had booked with a bigger company.
The owner of the caravan was approached by Lincolnshire Live for comment.
