Family heartbroken as dad-of-one who died in Kildare workplace accident named locally

A fundraiser has been set up for a young man who died earlier this week in a workplace accident in Kildare.

Donatas Jokubauskas, 32, died last Monday following the tragedy at an industrial plant in Rathangan.

Now a fundraiser has been set up on behalf of his wife Laura to help cover the funeral costs.

The pair are originally from Lithuania and have an 18-month-old son together and the fundraiser hopes to raise money so that tragic Donatas can be buried back home.

The appeal set up by Stepping Stones Creche reads: "We at Stepping Stones Creche in Newbridge are fundraising following the tragic work-related death of our friend and colleague Laura's 32-year-old husband Donatas Jokubauskas, who tragically lost his life on Monday 31st of May.

"Donatas and Laura have a one-year-old son and are both Lithuanian.

"Laura intends to bring her beloved husband back to Lithuania for burial.

"Of course, the costs of this is a lot so we are appealing for help, any amount big or small would be greatly appreciated.

"Many thanks, all at Stepping Stones.

"Any money raised that isn’t used for funeral expenses for Donatas will be used to help Laura with her personal expenses at this time."

The Health and Safety Authority will be conducting a probe into Donatas' death.

If you wish to donate to the fundraiser you can do so by heading here.
