Family heartache as quad bike accident victim dies after teen sister's shooting tragedy

A young gamekeeper died in a quad biking accident – nine years after his teenage sister was accidentally shot dead by her boyfriend as he cleaned his gun.

David Taylor, 27, fell from a quad vehicle while working on the Muckrach Estate at Dulnain Bridge, Speyside.

It is believed his fiancee, Christie McInnes, raised the alarm shortly before 6pm last Tuesday.

An air ambulance, road ambulances, a trauma team, police and two fire crews rushed to Clachbain Farm but David could not be saved.

It is the second tragedy to hit the Taylor family in nine years, after his 16-year-old sister Sophie was accidentally shot dead by her boyfriend Calum Murray as he cleaned his gun.

The 18-year-old trainee gamekeeper was so distraught he then turned the gun on himself at his home on the Glenavon Estate, near Tomintoul.
