Family have lucky escape from burning house in Dublin

A family had a lucky escape after fleeing from a burning house in Dublin 12 on Monday morning.

Three Dublin Fire Brigade crews were needed to fight the "well-developed" blaze.

A DFB spokesperson said: "The family had evacuated and there were no injuries.

"Neighbouring houses were cleared of smoke. Always have a working smoke alarm to give you and your family time to escape."

Photos from the scene show extensive damage to the property.

The two upper windows of the home are broken and blackened by smoke with damage visible on the roof also.

Two upstairs windows at the rear of the property are also broken and discoloured.

Part of the roof at the back of the house appears to have burnt away, with rafters showing and tiles missing.
