What it's about: The amazing true story of Saroo Brierley, who was separated from his Indian family at age 5, adopted by Australian parents, and eventually used technology find his way home 25 years later.
The kid attractor factor: Uplifting true-life tale, star Dev Patel.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Home is where you are best loved and comforted, and that can have multiple iterations in a life. Love has knows no bounds on family. Trust in others to believe in you. There's always a way to find your way home.
Violence: As a young boy lost in the city of Kolkata, Saroo experiences some scary situations with predatory men who snatch children off the street. There is implied abuse (not seen or named).
Language: No real strong language.
Sexuality: A few intimate scenes with a girlfriend, but no graphic sex scenes.
Drugs: Drinking, as well as the discussed drug use of Saroo's adoptive brother Mantosh.
Parents advisory: This is serious dramatic material, but an amazing and uplifting true story about the drive to return home. Indian child actor Sunny Pawar gives an amazing performance in the harrowing tale of young Saroo lost in Kolkata. Fine for older kids and teens.
