'THE SEAGULL'
Rated PG-13 for some mature thematic elements, a scene of violence, drug use and partial nudity.
What it's about: An adaptation of the turn of the century Anton Chekhov play.
The kid attractor factor: This is more of an adult drama, but some theater-interested teens might be intrigued.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Be careful with the hearts of other people.
Violence: The shooting of a bird and its bloody carcass, as well as a suicide attempt with a shotgun, the resulting wound, and implied gun violence.
Language: None.
Sexuality: Discussion of sexuality, an intimate scene of a couple in bed with some partial nudity.
Drugs: Onscreen snorting of snuff.
Parents advisory: This cinematic adaptation of a Russian play has some mature elements, but nothing that a teen or older kid might be able to handle.
