Family guide to new movie releases

'BLOCKERS'

Rated R for crude and sexual content, and language throughout, drug content, teen partying and some graphic nudity.

What it's about: A trio of parents set out to stop their teenage daughters from having sex on prom night.

The kid attractor factor: The raunchy teen comedy genre will draw teen audiences.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Listen to yourself and do the right thing for you. Trust your parents and your friends. Trust that you've taught your kids well and they'll do the right thing.

Violence: A violent car crash, some fighting and punching/body-slamming.

Language: Swearing and strong language throughout.

Sexuality: Sex is predominant theme_the teens want to have sex, and discuss it frequently, we see kissing, making out and other sexual acts with teens. A couple graphic sex scenes with parents, including graphic nudity (male and female frontal nudity). Prevalent sex throughout.

Drugs: Lots of teen drug use and drinking throughout. Teens binge drink (parents are the butt of the joke in more ways than one in this regard), and do drugs, including marijuana and other hallucinogens.

Parents advisory: Extremely raunchy and graphic in terms of language, sexuality and drug use. OK for teens but not kids.

'THE MIRACLE SEASON'

Rated PG for some thematic elements.

What it's about: The true story of an Iowa high school women's volleyball team who fought back from the loss of their captain to vie for a chance at the state championship for the second year in a row.

The kid attractor factor: The inspirational, girl-power sports story will appeal to young audiences.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Live life to the fullest, connect with everyone, work hard and team work makes the dream work.

Violence: None

Language: None

Sexuality: A chaste teenage romance with a kiss or two.

Drugs: None

Parents advisory: Although the film deals with tragic death, loss and grief, it's an inspirational and fun sports story appropriate for kids of all ages.
