SNOWDEN
Rated R for language and some sexuality/nudity.
What it's about: A biopic about notorious NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.
The kid attractor factor: Stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley. Tech-spy thriller could be a draw for teens.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Sometimes the government does illegal or immoral things, and it should be held accountable. Sometimes you have to do something wrong to do something right.
Violence: Drone strikes and other acts of war, though this is predominantly relegated to cyber warfare and espionage.
Language: Some strong language throughout.
Sexuality: A sex scene with partial nudity.
Drugs: Some casual drinking.
Parents advisory: While the genre and general content of "Snowden" might not appeal to kids, it is appropriate for teens who might be interested, and could spur an interesting discussion about online privacy and internet surveillance.
