SULLY
Rated PG-13 for some peril and brief strong language.
What it's about: Chronicles the amazing true story of the Miracle on the Hudson where Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger made a forced water landing on the Hudson River, as well as the secretive safety hearings that questioned his actions.
The kid attractor factor: Star Tom Hanks, as well as the true-life action adventure tale will be a draw for audiences of all ages.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Throughout the entire ordeal, everyone maintains professionalism, calm, and dignity. It's a wonderful New York story where disparate groups of people come together to lend a helping hand. Sully maintains his integrity throughout the intensive questioning process.
Violence: The water landing is a dramatic and scary sequence, but there are no real injuries or gore, aside from the one laceration sustained by a flight attendant. Sully experiences traumatic hallucinations and visions of planes crashing in New York after the experience.
Language: Only brief strong language.
Sexuality: None
Drugs: A drink in a bar.
Parents advisory: This inspiring story would be appropriate for older kids and teens. The scariest part, the water landing, is dramatic but not violent.
