Family guide to new movie releases

'BAD BOYS FOR LIFE'

Rated R for strong bloody violence, language throughout, sexual references and brief drug use.

What it's about: The third installment in the "Bad Boys" franchise finds the boys grappling with what it means to be "Good Men," while battling nefarious criminals, of course.

The kid attractor factor: Teens will be drawn to the action comedy genre.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Ride together, die together (i.e. always be there for your partner).

Violence: Lots of extreme bloody violence, gratuitous shooting and stabbing, fiery infernos, explosions, torture, grenades, etc.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: References to sex.

Drugs: References drugs and brief onscreen cocaine use.

Parents' advisory: Too violent for kids! OK for teens only.

'DOLITTLE'

Rated PG for some action, rude humor and brief language.

What it's about: The classic children's character goes back to his Victorian roots in this talking animal adventure tale.

The kid attractor factor: The animals, family-friendly story and humor.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Helping others is really a way to help yourself.

Violence: Some action and perilous sequences.

Language: Just rude jokes about bums and other bodily functions.

Sex: None.

Drugs: None.

Parents' advisory: OK for kids of all ages, though likely too scary for the smallest ones.
