What it's about: A faithful adaptation of Dr. Seuss' book, this animated feature follows the holiday grump as he attempts to steal Christmas and learns to open up.
The kid attractor factor: The beloved story, animation and humor.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Kindness and love are everything. Reach out to someone and share a connection rather than being upset. And Christmas isn't about gifts! It's about community.
Violence: Some harrowing sleigh and sled rides and bonks, but nothing intense.
Language: None.
Sexuality: The Grinch shakes his booty in exercise shorts?

Parents advisory: Holiday cheer for the whole family, with a classic story and great messaging. Not to mention the animation is wonderful.

What it's about: Swedish hacker vigilante Lisbeth Salander is back, and she's going after a crime syndicate trying to get their hands on a satellite weapon.
The kid attractor factor: Teens may be drawn to the action genre and edgy style.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Consider who and what you're fighting for and who you're trying to save.
Violence: Fighting, stabbing, shooting, torture, car crashes, suffocation, etc. This film is quite violent.
Language: Some swearing.
Sexuality: Some graphic nudity and references to sex and sexual abuse.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: Too violent and sexually mature for kids. OK for teens.
