What it’s about: A dystopian detective noir about a man diving into his memory to find a mysterious woman.
The kid attractor factor: This is more of an adult drama, not much appeal for kids.
Good lessons/bad lessons: If you go looking for something, you might not like what you find.
Violence: Some fisticuffs, shootouts, beatings, murder, etc.
Language: Some swearing
Sex: A sex scene (no nudity)
Drugs: References to a type of highly addictive drug, addiction and the drug trade.

'THE NIGHT HOUSE'
Rated R for some violence/disturbing images, and language including some sexual references.
What it’s about: A woman grapples with her own grief and potentially her husband's ghost while isolated in her home.
The kid attractor factor: Not much, this is an adult horror movie
Good lessons/bad lessons: Grief is an all-consuming thing. Friends will keep you tethered to reality.
Violence: Some scary moments of hauntings, references to suicide, disturbing images of dead bodies, discussion of the occult, discussion of murder.
Language: Some swearing and strong language
Sex: References to sex, some nudity
Drugs: None
Parents’ advisory: This is too scary for kids — maybe okay for mature teens.
