It's a different kind of holiday season this year, without travel, large family gatherings or holiday events. This means family members of all ages need plenty of entertaining streaming content to binge along with pie and cookies during long holiday weekends. Something to give thanks for is the plenitude of the "Happy Holidays Collection" on Disney+, which offers up a veritable cornucopia of originals to old favorites, including beloved seasonal TV episodes.
The first original to premiere this week is "The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special," which combines at least three things the nation holds dear. How can you go wrong? This 44-minute feature follows Rey as she plunges deeper into The Force and ends up caught in a cross-timeline adventure. That's available now, along with the "Frozen" spinoff "Once Upon a Snowman" and the 2019 Anna Kendrick-starring holiday film "Noelle," about Santa's daughter taking over the family business. More originals will be premiering throughout December, including Jillian Bell in "Godmothered," and "High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special."
The "Happy Holidays Collection" is also a one-stop shop for classic holiday favorite films like the "Home Alone" trilogy and "The Santa Clause" trilogy, "The Muppet Christmas Carol," "Miracle on 34th Street," "Babes in Toyland," "The Christmas Star," several Mickey Mouse holiday films, "Frozen" and "Frozen 2," and many more.
There's also a ton of holiday TV episodes from favorite Disney Channel original series like "That's So Raven" and "The Proud Family," and a selection of holiday episodes of "The Simpsons" and "America's Funniest Home Videos," which could ably serve as easy-to-digest background entertainment for the whole family during a post-turkey couch coma. Why go out when you can stay in and binge all the holiday content your heart desires?
